The route to Breiten, where adequate parking facilities are available, leads from Milan over the Simplon Pass (open all year round); from Geneva along the Lake of Geneva and through the Rhone Valley; from Basle/Berne via the Lötschberg (Kandersteg-Goppenstein) motorail service; from Zurich, Eastern and Central Switzerland via the Furka (Realp-Oberwald) motorail service. Another option, in summer, is to take an enjoyable drive over the Grimsel, Furka and Nufenen alpine passes, all of which are open from the beginning of June until the end of October.
